Simon Cowell has invited 2010 X Factor hopefuls to apply by uploading videos.

The reality TV judge described the new application process as an “obvious step forward” for the ITV1 show, which usually finds singers through a series of nationwide auditions.
Hopefuls who want to enter next year’s contest and “stand out from the crowd” have been told to upload video performances of themselves. Details on the new application process are on the show’s official website.
“This is an obvious step forward for us and we will ensure that every clip is watched carefully and presents another opportunity for people to enter The X Factor,” said Cowell.
The closing date for online, video and PO Box applications is Monday, March 15. Auditions will be held in the summer in London, Cardiff, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow and Dublin.
