XFactor hopeful Olly Murs appeared on Deal Or No Deal but left with just £10,

The Daily Star Sunday claims that Murs went on the show in 2007 to win money to help with doctors’ fees for his ill mother.

However, after rejecting an early offer of £20,000, the singer ended up with just £10. Noel Edmonds reportedly called it “the most appalling run of luck in the history of the game”.

“My mates were all singing, ‘Ten pounds, you only won ten pounds’ to me and I got plenty of stick,” Murs said. “I just say to them that I went on TV and they didn’t.

“I’d love to say I won more but I can’t lie, can I?”

However, Murs added that being on television had made him realise that he would like to work in the entertainment industry.

“I’d love a career in showbiz,” he said. “I’d love for something to develop now I’ve experienced being in the spotlight.”

Murs got through to the bootcamp stages of The X Factor after impressing the judges with his rendition of Stevie Wonder’s ‘Superstition’.
