Meanwhile, the finalists are reportedly concerned that they won’t be as successful as previous X Factor stars.

“For Simon every contestant is compared to Leona,” a source said. “He is still in awe of her and feels that no-one else can come close. The thing is, they are not meant to be compared to anyone but Leona’s legacy is living on strongly and is hanging over the house like an impossible standard they can’t live up to.

“The pressure on the finalists to live up to that is really beginning to weigh them down. They are aware people are saying there’s no stand-out star and everyone is starting to believe that.”

Danyl Johnson has backed Olly Murs to win this year’s X Factor crown. The 27-year-old singer backed the Essex lad to go all the way on next week’s grand final.
Johnson failed to make the final three after losing the public vote on Sunday night’s Michael Jackson-themed show.
He told Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on This Morning that he has always believed that Olly would make the final of the contest.

Danyl said: “I am looking forward to going back to The X Factor next week to give Olly a massive hug for winning.
“He is my Over 25 boy!.”
Johnson claimed that he had predicted Olly’s X Factor success when the pair met during the early stages of the competition.
He said: “At Boot Camp I said to him, `you are going to be in the last three’.
“That’s why he was so upset after the show because he couldn’t believe it, but I can.

“But I still think that Stacey is the dark horse and Joe is up there, every single performance he has given has been amazing.”

He added: “Next week is going to a surprise.

Judge Simon Cowell described Johnson’s first televised performance of ‘With A Little Help From My Friends’ as “single-handedly the best first audition I have ever heard”.


Speaking to Metro before yesterday’s semi-final, Johnson said: “When I first auditioned, it was a bit overhyped and stuff and it has just balanced itself out because I had some negative press. It’s sort of back in the middle now.”
