Susan Boyle reportedly turned up to perform on The X Factor with bright red hair, after a home dye job went horribly wrong.  Producers of the show were apparently forced to call in top hairdressers at the last minute, to fix the dodgy ‘do just three hours before Susan was due on stage.

The Britain’s Got Talent winner supposedly reached for the dye bottle to cover up a few greys before she left the US for London.

However, a source on the programme said: “The grey bits completely soaked up the colour and were especially vibrant.”

Fortunately, experts managed to transform the colour into a much darker shade of brown, just in time for her live rendition of Wild Horses.
