EastEnders Steve McFadden has split with the mother of his two-month old baby daughter after she told him he ‘could not be trusted’.

The actor, who plays Phil Mitchell in the soap, has been dumped by Dr Rachel Sidwell, but she is remaining tight-lipped about why the couple split.

She was in tears as she told a newspaper: ‘I’m in pieces. I’m too upset to talk about it.’

The 42-year-old added: ‘He can’t be trusted.’

‘What’s he done now? Whatever it is, it won’t surprise me.’

Just weeks ago, the actor, 50, was spotted taking his girlfriend and their daughter Amelie Tinkerbell on a day trip near Taplow, Bucks, on a boat belonging to his screen mother Barbara Windsor.

At the same time, a magazine printed pictures of the happy couple presenting their daughter to the world.

According to The Sun, Dr Sidwell has returned to her surgeon husband Dr James Green but they are living in the actor’s home in North London.

McFadden was first spotted out with her in May, after it emerged that she had left her husband for the soapstar.

With their homes just 10 minutes apart, it was believed that they met on the school run last year. Dr Sidwell, a mother of three, then moved in with the EastEnders actor.

He already had three children with two different women – a son with his childhood sweetheart Sue Marshall and two daughters with ex-girlfriend Angela Bostock, who  claimed he was a devotee of dogging.

He also has had a relationship with his EastEnders co-star Lucy Benjamin.

In the popular soap, likewise, Phil Mitchell had a string of affairs and children by different women.

A spokesman for the BBC soap said they had no comment on the break up.
