Peter Andre breathed a huge sigh of relief as his divorce from Katie Price was finalised, and said: “At last I’m free to love again.”
Clutching a set of papers, he hugged manager Claire Powell and brother Michael as the final stage of his divorce from Katie Price was confirmed.
He told them: “It’s over. I’ve moved on. It’s been hard but you guys have always been there for me. I’ve been hurt by this but I’m a stronger man now. I can cope with anything.”
And the 36-year-old star’s self-imposed sex ban could soon be at an end.
He had previously said: “I don’t think it would be right to have a sexual relationship until everything is sorted.”
And a pal said yesterday: “He’s a hotblooded man and the last few months have been difficult. But he’s always wanted to do the right thing by Kate and the kids. And that meant not being on the market until things died down. Now that moment has finally come, expect some fireworks. Pete was always 100% faithful during their marriage and even when the divorce was going through.”
Peter was yesterday looking after his and Katie’s kids, Junior, four, and Princess, two, after his trip to his lawyer’s offices.
The source said: “He’ll have a relaxing night in, looking after the kids. He might have a glass of scotch when the kids go to bed.” His subdued behaviour yesterday was in stark contrast to Katie’s, who threw a divorce party after their decree nisi last month.
However, her camp denied Katie, 31, behaved badly after the split.
Peter ended their marriage in May and a pal of Katie’s said: “Let’s remember who dumped who here. She was like any other woman who gets her heart broken.”
Yesterday Katie was promoting her new style book, Standing Out. She endured a frosty TV interview with Phillip Schofield, who accused her of “baiting” her ex-husband.
The presenter also wrote on his official blog that the public is getting bored with hearing about the ex-couple.
Schofield said: “What makes this break-up even more upsetting is that they are communicating, but in the papers! Not really a reliable way to pick through the wreckage of a marriage.
“It’s hard to know who is in the right and if what we are hearing is anywhere near the truth. I don’t intend to take sides, I like them both but this public scrap is anything but helpful.
