X Factor twins Jedward have been dropped by their record label after their first single failed to top the charts.
The spectacularly quiffed John and Edward Grimes, 18, seemed to be embarking on an improbable pop career despite being ridiculed for their singing on the show.
A record deal with Sony was announced in January with the teenagers saying they were delighted to be ‘like our idols… living our dream’.
But their first song, Under Pressure, a duet with Vanilla Ice, was beaten to No.1 last month by U.S. band Owl City and dropped out of the Top 10 a week later.
The boys, who made up for their lack of ability with unbounded enthusiasm, failed to maximise the huge exposure they gained from performing the track with the 90s rapper at the National Television Awards.
