GEORGE Hamilton said he was close to pulling out of the jungle last night after an emotional phone conversation with his girlfriend Barbara.
Speaking of the other celebs, he told Kim Woodburn: “They are people who are starting careers.
“I’m at point where this is fun to do. I’m not going to go head to head, so I’m thinking about leaving, pulling out tomorrow.”
Kim asked him to stay but the 70-year-old actor said: “At my age, the time I have with people I care about is important.
“I don’t see a purpose for me to stay.”
George had spoken to Barbara for two minutes after producers arranged a special call.

Last night an ITV chief said: “At this stage people often say they’ve had enough. We don’t want to see him go.”
The jungle camp are so fed up with Kim they LAUGHED when she found a leech in her foot.
They acted concerned – but as soon as her back was turned several started guffawing.

‘m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! producers fear that the show’s ratings will suffer following Joe Bugner’s departure from the jungle, a report has claimed.
The outspoken contestant, who rowed with Sabrina Washington and Kim Woodburn during his time in camp, was K/o after losing out to actor Stuart Manning in the jungle jail trial.
An insider told The Sun: “Joe leaving was the last thing bosses wanted. He has been the centre of attention and has helped to create quite a few arguments.
“Stuart’s a nice guy but is seriously dull. They can’t have the interesting people picked off.”
