Reports claim Jason R. Peyton travelled across the U.S. to meet the former Friends star, and was taken into custody after he was found “laying-in-wait” near her house on 15 July (10). Upon his arrest, cops discovered he was carrying “a sharp object, a bag, a roll of duct tape and written messages about (Aniston)”.

Following the arrest, he was placed on a 5150 involuntary psychiatric hold for a month.

Abbey yesterday turned to John Terry’s long-suffering wife Toni for comfort in the wake of Peter’s alleged romp.

The devastated model and TV star sought solace in a woman who knows all about the pain of being cheated on after her husband’s fling with her friend Vanessa Perroncel.

Abbey went horse-riding with Toni just hours after having a furious bust-up with Tottenham striker Crouch over allegations he bedded teenage prostitute Monica Mint on a stag do.

She warned the 29-year-old their wedding was off if she found out he had cheated on her with other women.

Abbey was spotted without her engagement ring as she chatted to Toni at a riding centre in Surrey.

A source close to 24-year-old Abbey said: “Toni knows how much Abbey is hurting and she wants to do everything she can to help. They seemed deep in conversation and had a drink to discuss where things have gone wrong.”

The two women chatted for 90 minutes at the Oldencraig Equestrian Centre near Lingfield racecourse.

Toni was left devastated over claims Terry, mum of his four-year-old twins – had been having a sordid fling with Vanessa – ex-girlfriend of his former Chelsea team-mate Wayne Bridge.

Ruffled Crouch struggled to explain himself during the heated exchange in the early hours and the meeting ended in tears. After a brief sleep he left the house at 7.30am in his Audi 4×4 to visit his mum in Ealing, West London, and then later train with Spurs.

A source said: “By the time she saw Peter it was nearly 24 hours since the allegations broke and she was in a bit of a state feeling betrayed, angry and deeply upset.

“Peter had a lot of explaining to do but she was not impressed with all his answers and needed convincing that this night was a one-off.

“Abbey feels humiliated. Just as her career was taking off with lots of TV work she feels worthless. Her confidence has taken a battering.

“It’s not something that can be fixed overnight.”

It was the first time the couple had come face-to-face since the allegations of Crouch’s romp broke on Sunday.

Abbey had been filming for her new E4 series Great British Hairdresser in Manchester while Crouch was confined to the south with Spurs.

“Times change, and so do the tastes of our audience,” said Peter Fincham, the channel’s director of television.

The move follows a major revamp that saw the drama relaunched as a weekly programme in a post-watershed slot.

Producers Talkback Thames said they were “devastated” by a decision that “may result in a significant number of redundancies” for the company.

“We are incredibly proud of what the show has achieved,” said CEO Lorraine Heggessey.

“It is a credit to everyone who has worked on The Bill that the series will be signing out on a creative and editorial high, with both critical and industry-wide acclaim and a loyal fan base who have supported the show throughout.”

Creative decision

ITV said it would invest the money it spent on the programme – first seen on the channel in 1983 – on new peak-time drama commissions.

Fincham said The Bill had been “the home of some of the UK’s best serial drama storylines and a great showcase for terrific scriptwriting and fine acting talent”.

“Thanks to a superb production team, it’s been one of the great institutions of television drama,” he continued.

Set around the fictional Sun Hill police station in London, The Bill began life as a one-off drama entitled Woodentop.

ITV was impressed enough to commission a weekly series that eventually became a thrice-weekly soap.

The channel insisted the move to axe the show was a creative decision and was not done to cut costs.

“Whilst The Bill will come to an end in 2010, we will continue to invest more in drama programming than any other commercial broadcaster in the UK,” said Fincham.

According to Heat, sources close to the band have confirmed that the future of the band is “on hold” while Owen resolves his personal problems.

However, one claimed: “Mark is in rehab, so they can’t continue recording without him. There’s no more to it than that. As it stands, they’re not going to split, but we’ll have to wait and see.

“The boys are supposed to be releasing new material at the end of the year and that’ll hopefully still happen. While you can never say never, Take That as a band are very much looking forward to the future and there’s no real reason why the band can’t continue.”

They added: “Admittedly, things are a bit up in the air with Mark in rehab. All the boys are sticking by him – they’re there for both him and Emma and are determined to support him through this.

“Mark is very much a part of the Take That family, and once he’s addressed his demons the band can move forward.”

Speaking on Fearne Cotton’s Radio 1 show, the singer insisted that she hadn’t spoken to Simon Cowell “directly” about the project and claimed that stories about deals were just rumours.

When asked whether she would consider appearing on the show, she said: “It’s kind of scary. I always think this, but why would they give a bleep what I thought. And I’ve got this weird accent.

“I love the thought of it and the talent out there is phenomenal. But whether they would buzz off me is a different thing.”

Cole confessed that she would struggle with homesickness if she attempted to launch her solo career in the US, but added that she would give it “110 percent” if the opportunity came around.
