Charity Tate’s dramatic return to Emmerdale last night was seen by a massive 7.7m!.
The double bill – during which Charity was revealed to be Michael’s bride, before secrets and lies were unveiled – was seen by 6.89m (35.1%) and 7.66m (34.1%) at 7pm and 8pm.
The 7pm outing drew its highest audience since May 4, while its 8pm instalment pulled its largest figures since February 20.
EastEnders narrowly edged Coronation Street in the ratings battle, with 8.01m (37.8%) tuning in to see Chelsea discover Trina’s bracelet at 8pm on BBC One. BBC Three’s repeat added a further 705k (4%) at 10pm.
Corrie’s third episode of the week, which saw Rosie threaten to take Luke to an employment tribunal, averaged 7.87m (33.6%) at 8.30pm. ITV2′s repeat showing at 11.05pm added 211k (2.2%).
BBC One’s appointment with Doctors at 1.45pm, titled ‘Billy Boy’ had 1.55m (25.4%
Five’s edition of Neighbours, during which Susan received some good news, took 1.4m (11.1%) at 5.30pm. Fiver’s 7pm repeat interested a further 231k (1.3%).
Bel and Gov’s departure from Hollyoaks was watched by 1.31m (7.2%) at 6.30pm, before 441k (2.4%) caught E4′s first look at 7pm.
Sarah’s tragic skydive death during Hollyoaks Later, meanwhile, managed 428k (2.1%) at 9pm. A further 226k (1.5%) tuned in for its timeshift repeat on E4+1. Last year’s penultimate episode of Later had 762k (4.8%).
Home and Away dipped below the million mark for the first time this week, logging 956k (5.9%). Fiver’s first look put in 533k (3.2%).
