So he “Faked ” it Derren Brown managed to correctly predict the Lotto numbers live on TV.

He’s promised to explain to viewers how he achieved the feat in a show tomorrow, but that’s too long to wait – we want to know now!

Just how did Brown pull off this shifty trick…

One rumour suggests that Brown was able to access the result through a feed that was a few minutes ahead of the public broadcast.

Another that the ping-pong balls he was using to display his predictions were swapped through slight of hand after an assistant wrote down the numbers for him.

Perhaps it was tiny radio-controlled projectors inside each of the balls?

Or maybe he really had worked out a formula after what he called ‘a year’s work’ of studying the lottery process.

Here’s the theory, courtesy of You Tuber oneone25percent:

- The balls are blank from the very start

- Brown has someone else who has access to 49 balls, each with a different number on it

- As each number is called out the correctly numbered balls are positioned on a new rack

- the left-hand side of what we are seeing on our screens is a pre-record of static balls played in sync as an overlay with the right-hand side

- the second person simply replaces the rack of balls to fit the results, which we don’t see as we are still watching the overlay

- the footage is then re-synced, with a slight freeze at around the 2:02 mark – what we see after that is the new footage, which explains the different position of the ball on the far-left.

We’re not saying it’s the answer to this most puzzling of conundrums, but it seems to be the best ’solution’ out there.
