XFactor Star Danyl Johnson is heading to the United States to appear on hit breakfast show Today.

Bosses at the American NBC programme have invited Danyl and he could be off to New York later this week.

Danyl, 27, became an instant hit when he sang The Beatles’ With A Little Help From My Friends on Saturday’s opening night.

But an ITV source admitted: “Not even we expected things to move this quickly.”

It is the first time an X Factor star has been invited on to the US show, but Britain’s Got Talent performers such as Susan Boyle have appeared.

Nearly a million people have watched Danyl’s X Factor performance on YouTube.
