Cheryl’s new solo career will no doubt be a very nervous time as she competes with some of her xfactor artists.
So no wonder Cheryl Cole is pulling out all the stops for her bid for solo success.
She has called in help to give her new stylish image which sets apart her singing from her judging on the XFactor.
Her new single, Fight For This Love, and upcoming album have a fresh image that sets Cheryl well apart from her fresh-faced early Girls Aloud days and their current sexy styling.
Instead, the 26-year-old appears to be turning to icons such as the Black Eyed Peas’ Fergie for inspiration.
Her new look is a combination of fierce studs and spikes to Hepburn-esque glamour through to street wear.
It is more reminiscent of her look in Will.I.Am’s video for Heartbreaker.
A source told Heat magazine: ‘Her stylist, Victoria Adcock, worked with Cheryl on creating a younger, fresher look from the one she has on The X Factor, which is all grown-up labels and structured dresses and shirts.
‘Cheryl realised that if she was going to go it alone, she needed everything to be totally different from Girls Aloud.
‘For her music, Cheryl and Victoria went for something fun and rocky – she is, after all, a young girl and she wanted her new look to reflect that.’
The singer has reportedly also been involved in writing material for her upcoming solo album Three Words.
‘Cheryl’s never written her own lyrics before, but most of her songs are based on her own experiences,’ the source added.
“One song, ‘Please Don’t Talk About This Love’, is particularly personal – it’s clearly about her relationship with Ashley”.
Cheryl’s bid to be the next big female solo artist is ironic as her single will be released just a week apart from X Factor winner Alexandra Burke – who she mentored to the final.
The two will go head to head next month with the release of their respective singles.
Alexandra’s single Bad Boys will be released on October 12 – giving her a head start on Cheryl, who will launch her track on October 19.
The X Factor winner’s debut album – Overcome – will follow on the same day.
As the grabs from their accompanying videos reveal, both popstrels are furiously vamping it up for their debuts.
Alexandra, whose single features American rapper Flo Rida, dons a shorter than short gold dress to reveal plenty of toned flesh and can also be seen strutting in an eye-wateringly tight leather outfit.
Meanwhile Cheryl also rocks the leather look with a low-slung pair of trousers teamed with a leopard print basque.
The X Factor judge also appears in military regalia, a white dress and a hooded red and black creation during the clip.
Cheryl recorded her album on a trip to Los Angeles where she worked with Black Eyed Peas star will.i.am.
Fans will no doubt be wondering whether the lyrics for Fight For This Love are autobiographical after lurid headlines about the state of her marriage to footballer Ashley Cole?.
