The spectacularly quiffed John and Edward Grimes, 18, seemed to be embarking on an improbable pop career despite being ridiculed for their singing on the show.

A record deal with Sony was announced in January with the teenagers saying they were delighted to be ‘like our idols… living our dream’.

But their first song, Under Pressure, a duet with Vanilla Ice, was beaten to No.1 last month by U.S. band Owl City and dropped out of the Top 10 a week later.

The boys, who made up for their lack of ability with unbounded enthusiasm, failed to maximise the huge exposure they gained from performing the track with the 90s rapper at the National Television Awards.

Osbourne commented: “They’re queuing up now to get on – what’s that show called – We’ve Got No F**king Talent At All. It’s like a revolving door for tw*ts.”
Asked whether she is partly responsible for this due to her work on The X Factor and America’s Got Talent, the 57-year-old replied: “Listen, I actually walked from X Factor because I couldn’t stand the bulls**t anymore.
“I was getting well paid – very well paid – so it was hard to leave, but I did because they didn’t like me speaking the truth. They’d rather have some doll like Dannii Minogue as judge, endorsing this bulls**t.

“Dannii – I couldn’t stand her. She wasn’t so much a dim bulb as a bulb in a power cut. F**king useless.”

Hopefuls who want to enter next year’s contest and “stand out from the crowd” have been told to upload video performances of themselves. Details on the new application process are on the show’s official website.

“This is an obvious step forward for us and we will ensure that every clip is watched carefully and presents another opportunity for people to enter The X Factor,” said Cowell.

The closing date for online, video and PO Box applications is Monday, March 15. Auditions will be held in the summer in London, Cardiff, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow and Dublin.

And what’s more is that the singer – currently on the X Factor’s live tour – is said to be working on his debut album already. Epic’s boss Nick Raphael described Olly as a big personality, and said that they hope to make a big record, that showcases his talents, reports The Sun.

The signs are definitely looking good for the “X Factor” runner-up. Epic just happens to be the label that snapped up fellow runners-up JLS last year and turned them from the hopefuls they were then, to the biggest boyband in the country, with 2 Brits to their name.

The pregnant singer, whose first baby is due in July, has stated that she will be at home in Australia for the first stages of filming, and will therefore not be taking part.

When asked if she’d be able to fit in filming around the birth, she replied: ‘If they’re auditioning in the hospital in Australia, yes, but otherwise no!’

‘I will totally miss Cheryl and Louis and Simon, and not being there for the auditions, but I really need to be near my family in Australia at such an important time,’ she told Digital Spy.

It is not yet known whether Dannii will then resume her seat on the panel for the live shows.

“They’ve got a contract with Butlins to perform at summer school holiday gigs. And they’re still making £100,000 from the X Factor tour – but this is a huge blow.”

A spokesperson for Syco confirmed the decision, adding: “We never guarantee contracts for anyone other than the X Factor winner and this year we’ve decided to focus on Joe.

“However, we understand there is interest in other finalists from many parts of the musical industry and we hope they all do very well.”

However, then she wants to bow out to have a baby – and is even prepared to turn down Simon Cowell’s bid to get her on board for the new U.S. version of the TV talent contest.
‘Cheryl has made it clear that she wants to have a baby sooner rather than later,’ a source close to the 26-year-old brunette revealed.
‘This is something she knows she has to plan. She will be 27 in June and she really wants to start a family with Ashley.’
Despite this, Cowell is still keen to get Mrs Cole on board as a judge for his American version of the X Factor, which will launch in the U.S. in autumn next year.

Cowell, 50 – who recently regained the rights to his hit TV formats, including the X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent, in a deal with Sony – admitted: ‘She’d be great over here – Cheryl’s a star.’

Green, who was frozen out of negotiations with Sony despite being an adviser to Cowell, will be a shareholder in Cowell’s new company.
“I have had a fantastic relationship with Sony for many years and I’m delighted we are launching this venture together,” said Cowell.
Sony said that the new business would be a “new long-term global venture to focus on the production and exploitation of music, television, film and digital content”.

The first project for the new Syco will be the launch of a US version of The X Factor, which will debut on Rupert Murdoch’s Fox in the autumn of 2011. Cowell will serve as executive producer and judge on the US version. A range of candidates, including X Factor UK judge Cheryl Cole and former American Idol judge Paula Abdul, have been mentioned as possible judges.
The X Factor airs in 17 countries, while the Got Talent franchise is broadcast in 27.
“This new venture will allow Sony Music and all Sony divisions to develop and pursue a host of new opportunities with this supremely talented individual,” said Sir Howard Stringer, chairman and chief executive of Sony Corporation.

Simon is thought to be taking Girls Aloud member and fellow X Factor judge Cheryl Cole over to the US to launch the new programme.

But Victoria had better watch her comments if she wants a permanent spot on the judging panel, after recently saying she was surprised at how “short” Simon was in person.

She said: “I am always surprised at how short Simon is. I have known him for a while but it still always shocks me, we have to call it vertically challenged so he doesn’t get too self-conscious.”

Revealing how her stint on American Idol went, she said: “I saw so much talent, and to be a part of making someone’s dream come true was exciting for me.”
