The model-designer, property “tycooness” and sometime rock ‘n’ roll singer, who celebrated her 36th birthday earlier this month, has designed her first handbag collection for the French, luxury leathergoods brand, Longchamp, famous for its foldaway ‘Le Pliage’.

But it seems that they’ve not been as well received as she might’ve hoped, with eagle-eyed fashion fans quickly pointing out similarities between Lindsay’s designs, and other already-existing pieces.

The stunning model posed like a true pro wearing a brown pinstripe suit with matching thigh-high boots as she flashed her long and leans legs. The statement suit and boot combo is not one of our favourite looks on the twenty-one year old but who could blame her for choosing such a revealing outfit when she has a body like that?

And British luxury lingerie brand Myla is cashing in on the new trend – with the launch of a £350 silk ‘Christmas’ corset, which will be unveiled by queen of burlesque, Immodesty Blaze, in Selfridges’ Oxford Street window tomorrow morning.

Helen Attwood, Selfridges’ head buyer for lingerie, said: ‘The trend for underwear worn as outerwear is more popular than ever with customers investing more in fashion that adds a touch of spice to everyday life.’
And the driving force behind the sudden surge? Hollywood of course.
Sales of Bordelle’s Angela Cage £365 bandage dress also soared by 90% after 21-year-old Rihanna stepped out in a similar white leather bandage catsuit at the American Music Awards in Los Angeles earlier this week.



The Bajan singer flashed the flesh on stage in a futuristic white catsuit with white shoulderpads, which shot lasers across the stage.
Copies of the more modest version will no doubt be available on the High Street soon as teenagers scramble to covet the barely-there look.
Women certainly appear to be doing their bit to boost the economy as high-end cosmetics are also bucking the recession with a surge in sales, according to recent figures.
And what better way to cheer her up than some sexy underwear and a bit of red lipstick?

The firm’s results show an overall sales increase for the six months period of 47 per cent, with UK sales increasing by 33 per cent and international sales by 112 per cent.
According to the firm, the number of active customers saw a year-on-year increase of 32 per cent to 1.2 million at the end of October 2009.


“This was a strong first half performance and an encouraging start to the second half. UK sales continue to grow and international sales have accelerated,” said Nick Robertson, chief executive of Asos.
“We built out our international operation, and its output is clearly visible with international sales now representing 25 per cent of the total,” he said.
“Fundamentally, the internet is the retail channel with the greatest potential and ASOS is ideally situated to exploit it.”

When staff opened the doors to the Bull Ring shopping centre at 6am on Saturday morning, it was a welcome relief for the hundred or so die hard fashionistas who had been waiting outside throughout the night in driving wind and rain, reports BBC Online.
The queue started at 9pm Friday night and when students Dee, 19 and Trishnan, 20, from Birmingham, arrived at 1pm there were already 20 people ahead of them in the queue.
“Loads of people were fighting to get in the queue and get in first,” said Dee. “People were pushing in but no-one was letting them.”

Once inside the the building, burly security guards kept order, and staff from the store began organising a system to ensure that as many people as possible were able to buy a pair of the sought-after shoes.
Different coloured wristbands were handed out, and those in possession were given appointment times, when they’d be allowed to return and pick up some footwear.

“We’ve got the red wristband and we’ve been told to come back at 9.35pm, and we get like ten minutes in there” said Dee.

“We’re only allowed one item, so we can only get one pair of shoes each,” added Trishnan.
By 8pm the queue was snaking back to the entrance of the shopping centre.
Small groups of teenagers and well dressed women were in the majority.


But dotted along the length of the queue were glum looking men, often on their own, looking incongruous in their jeans and anoraks, trying to get that must-have Christmas present for their wives or girlfriends.

After they’d been given their coveted red wristband, Dee and Trishnan took pictures on their phones of each other posing next to the Jimmy Choo window display.
