Brittany Murphy was hooked on the same painkilling drugs that Michael Jackson used, her devastated pals have revealed.
The HollyWood actress is said to have become addicted to prescription pills including Vicodin which the singer used after a series of cosmetic ops, reports today’s tabloids.

Detectives said last night they had discovered a large stash of prescription drugs inside Brittany’s Beverly Hills home.

Investigators searched the house after she died from a heart attack in the shower on Sunday.
They found the pills were prescribed for Brittany, 32, her husband Simon Monjack and her mother.
Detectives are awaiting the results of tests to see whether the medication played a part in the star’s death.
Police sources told Hollywood website TMZ: “There were a lot – a lot – of prescriptions in the house.”
A spokesman for the Los Angeles coroner said it appeared that Brittany had died from natural causes.

But with toxicology tests still to be completed, no official cause of death has been recorded.
Brittany was reportedly was taking medication for flu-like symptons in the days leading up to the tragedy.
She had complained of feeling unwell and had been vomiting in the bathroom on the morning she died.

One friend said: “We have been very worried that something like this was about to happen. Brittany has been living life on the edge. She definitely had a drug problem and we all begged her to seek help.
“Sadly, our words fell on deaf ears.”
TMZ also said that the police had finished their preliminary investigation into the death.
Sources added that detectives had found no evidence of foul play.
Brittay’s family released a statement expressing their devastation.

A family spokesman said: “The loss of our beloved Brittany is a terrible tragedy. She was our daughter, our wife, our love and a shining star.”
Her father, Angelo Bertolotti, said he could not understand how she died.


He said he had not seen the star since she married British-born Monjack three years ago.
He said: “I can’t believe this is happening. She was a young 32. She wasn’t supposed to die like this.”
Monjack could be interviewed by detectives.
It is not the first time the screenwriter has found himself at the centre of controversy.

Last month, he was with Brittany in Puerto Rico when she was reportedly sacked from her latest movie set. There were also claims he had got into a fight with locals.

The term “#howwouldyoufeel” is also circulating around Twitter on the morning of December 21. Twitter users are asking or responding to questions that use “How would you feel” as the jumping-off point, resulting in a series of often bizarre tweets.
