The mayor, is the first politician to be honoured with a guest appearance in the BBC soap, which airs Thursday Oct 1st.
Boris as many of you will have seen, as a host on the topical news quiz, Have I Got News For You.
The storyline evolves when Peggy Mitchell develops an interest in local politics and spends all morning trying to track him down when he visits Walford, the fictional London borough where the show is set.
He is given a verbal bashing by Peggy, who is angry about the lack of street-cleaners in her area, but the mop-haired classicist’s charms eventually win her over.
Mr Johnson arrived to film the scene on his bicycle. He said it was a “tremendous honour” to appear, adding: “EastEnders is a true London icon”.
The cameo was set up by the show’s producers in a bid to ensure EastEnders was a true reflection of contemporary London.
“We hope that meeting the mayor will help us stay ahead with the latest London stories, policies and developments,” Diederick Santer, the soap’s executive producer, said.
